Guess who is coming to town? ... and it's not Santa!

One of my favorite hotels in New York City is "Sixty Thompson", quietly located in SoHo. It is a small, luxury boutique hotel designed by Thomas O'Brien and it is the epitome of understated elegance. Well, by gosh, by golly, the fine people at Thompson Hotels have realized that Washington, DC could use a little New York spunk, funk, style and sophistication. With great enthusiasm, I am happy to announce that "Donovan House", as it shall be called, will grace Washington Circle, across the street from the Washington Plaza hotel this March 2008. The former Holiday Inn has undergone extensive refurbishment, renovation and just plain gutting to create what I know will be a smashing success. God bless our souls!

I have brought some photographs of "Sixty Thompson" in SoHo, New York City to this blog, (above and below). Immediately following those snapshots are the artist renderings for "Donovan House", Washington DC. More information on all Thompson Hotels may be found at http://www.60thompson.com. Just as a quick aside, I will be staying at the other new Thompson property in New York City, "6 Columbus", in just a few weeks. We shall see.
